SAVING IN EARTH'S SERVICE
First of all, thank You. Thank You for devoting your time to read my website and posts.
My name is Robert. I'm Polish, 40 this year (2022), a husband and a father of two wonderful children. In 2019 our four migrated from Europe to Melbourne, Australia.
The main reason behind starting this blog was to help fellow migrants understand better how expensive life in Australia really is. I do it by writing about our own experiences as a family of four.
I also use blog space to promote the idea of frugal living as the best way of saving our Planet.
On a personal note.
I like to describe myself as a reasonable minimalist, a lifelong learner, a migrant, an admirer of nature's beauty, an amateur triathlete, a one-day-a-surfer, and a coffee addict.
My approach to personal finance is determined by a few of my "flaws". I like statistics. I'm also very meticulous when it comes down to writing down and managing my expenses. I like to be able to predict my financial future. It gives me a feeling of control.
It's really interesting to see, how much you can learn about yourself and your habits from knowing your spending history. I know exactly how much we have spent since 2019. Based on that data, I've been able to find different patterns, that tell a lot about our habits, addictions, seasonal spending, sports activities, etc. I know, that a big change can only start with taking this first small step.
Thankfully my wife is on the same page :)
I would never start this blog without a few sources of inspiration. I found them here:
Jak oszczedzac pieniadze (How to save money) by Polish blogger Michal Szafranski:
Smart Passive Income by American entrepreneur Pat Flynn:
Strong Money Australia by Dave Gow:
The list of bloggers and people I'm grateful to is much longer and one day I hope to be able to say "Thank You" to all of them in person.
This blog is all about promoting a frugal lifestyle as a way to save our planet and our future. You can do it by buying less and spending smarter! So if you've ever asked yourself the following questions:
- how to save money?
- how much can I save?
- how to start saving money?
- how to prepare a home budget?
- what's my net value?
- and how can saving money contribute to saving Earth?
This blog is for you. Yet it's not for everybody.
Becoming frugal is like a journey, which requires a change of your mindset. So if you feel compelled to save the future and change your spending habits, you've just taken your first step.
I believe, that by making a few changes to your spending habits you can save a significant amount of money. But it's not all about saving money. Actually, it's not about money at all. It's more about understanding, what's really important in life and that "money is means, not an end".
In my articles I share with you the ways, that help me become more frugal. There's nothing more convincing, than pure, brutal, and honest facts. I gather these by observing my environment, submerging in it and learning from it. My articles are supported by facts, figures, and statistics.
A frugal life is all about living more by investing in what matters the most: family, friends, fitness and freedom and saving our environment.
I'm Polish, but since 2019 I reside in Melbourne, Australia. A truly astonishing city...
While my inspiration has been born here, I know that the observations, that I share with You are universal and can be applied by almost anyone and anywhere.
The Money Saving Rabbit is a migrant in Australia, but also a husband and a father. I write about living expenses, ways to save money and the different shades of being an expat Down Under.
I also promote frugal living as the best way to save our Planet and our future. That's why it's
